Internet: Use or Misuse? (Week 2)

Internet is the networks of network where users can get access to a wide array of resources by requesting it from the server computers. It is a group of interconnected computers where computers act as server or client, and client computers request resources to the server computers. In the days of pandemic, the Internet has really become a life saver for us students as we can study our regular courses by staying at our homes being completely safe. So I think that Internet is also one of the necessities of our life. It has become an indivisible aspect of our life, without which the life becomes more difficult. But I also truly believe that some users in the Internet are over-exploiting it by wasting their precious hours starring at the digital screen seeing just anything.

Internet has really become an aspect of our life because life without it seems to be quite harsh in today’s day. According to a recent survey, 59% of the global population have access to the Internet, which means that more than half of the people in this world are using Internet for various purposes. We all know hundreds of people who have made their identity on the Internet by demonstrating their talents in this largest platform of the world like publishing blogs, making videos and showcasing various other kinds of talent. It facilitates us by providing online courses, window shopping, business meetings, Office conferences etc. and important online facilities like e-governance, e-commerce, e-banking etc. are also possible only when one is facilitated with the Internet. But we are also well aware of countless number of crimes that occur due to Internet such as stalking, identity theft, hacking, software piracy etc. which are collectively known as cyber-crime. Millions of people in the world are utilizing their time learning many things, communicating with each other, and entertaining oneself all because of Internet. But again many people are committing crimes knowingly or unintentionally using the Internet. So I think that Internet is today’s need unless it is misused or over-exploited causing time waste. To encapsulate this, we can say that the Internet has become a need of today’s era which has been quite useful for people at both sides of the law.
