Online Classes and Me (Week 3)
This would be the first time in our
lives that we are attending classes without actually going to the class. I just
get into my study room, lock myself, turn on the laptop and attend lectures.
This is what the new normal looks like. However I feel safer this way to attend
classes without being in a constant fear of Corona Virus. On the other hand we
do not have any other option of continuing our studies by other ways. Plus it
is equally as effective as the normal classes, and on top of that one can
revise lessons using lecture videos. As all the students around the globe are
undergoing this situation, I thought to share my experiences of this online
classes.
Our online classes started just few
weeks ago and we got to start our Second semester officially. Although learning
new topics, and doing classwork as well as homework has really diverted my mind
from this pandemic but I often face this power outage problem due to which the
tension arises whether I get to attend the classes or not. Thankfully the
University that I study in, has provided all of its students with Data pack
that I believe completely solves the problem of unavailability of Internet. But
still I fear that the charge of my laptop will drain out as it could really be
difficult to understand from the middle of the lecture or miss an entire
lecture if the outage is long enough. However we are provided with lecture
videos of each lecture so that problem just takes care of itself. Moreover our
doubts and queries are always cleared by the teachers so the online class is
just as effective as the regular class. But as Nepal is a developing country
and construction projects take place throughout the year, I recently faced a
problem a month ago where there was no network all over the area in landline
and cell phones. If this situation occurs anywhere, one can miss entire lectures
for numerous times. So summing up, Online classes are effective to all
Nepalese students unless one is not privileged enough to attend it without any
interruption. This is what came on this year, so I guess everyone’s got to
accept this new normal.
It's nice
