Post Class Reflection (Week 5)
I attended my English class today and it was really wholesome and wonderful. First of all, as a part of our creative learning, Eak sir taught us to write a Diamante poem, which I found pretty interesting. It is a type of poem, in which a word is chosen and words describing it is also written in the successive lines. And then the words describing its antonym is written. And in this way, the entire meaning becomes opposite from the initially preceding word.
Then 2 of my friends presented on “Memo Writing”. Memo was derived from memorandum which meant a message written for business or diplomacy. The memos are generally written to convey message to the staff or workers of any business company, organization or universities. This is a short message written to provide a piece of information or express a problem within them. We also got to know form our teacher Eak sir that although the letters were far more popular or handy, but memo had its own role and significance in conveying the message. Furthermore, a letter took more time to be delivered where as a memo could be read instantly by all those concerned with it.
After this we unraveled an essay from two other friends, which was named “The Four Tusked Elephant”, which was all about the research about the writer on the four tusked elephant. Although the essay ended with an uncertainty about this kind of elephant, we got to learn an important life lesson that attempts made do not assure success but it definitely raises the probability of the success. After this we explored a short drama called “Swan Song”, which was written by famous writer Anton Chekov. This was a drama about two people related to an act theatre. In this drama, the protagonist reminisces his past activities and reviews his entire life. This drama is mainly about the perspective of old age and death from the eyes of an old man but also opens shows about the attitude of the Russians towards the acting career in the 19th Century.
So here goes by Diamante poem:

Learning Understanding Enjoying
Imagination Creation Guidance Reminiscence
